She may be known for her big, um, voice, but in the December 10 NBC movie about her childhood, Dolly Parton’s mini-me is set to steal some attention.

“She is gonna be a star,” raves the country icon of Alyvia Alyn Lind, who plays young Parton opposite Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles and Ricky Schroder as her parents. Tons of little girls auditioned, but everyone “knew the right one would show up. The second I saw that little face, I just went, Thank you, God. She was so there; so much light and so much spirit.”

Executive producer Parton says of the film, “It is very personal. It’s about my life and my family, the kind of people who made me who and what I am. It really shows a glimpse inside [the life of] country people and people who have to work hard for a living.”
