Galentine’s Day is the unofficial holiday for female friendship, and what better way to celebrate than by Hulu releasing all seven seasons of the Golden Girls on its streaming network!

To celebrate the release, recording artist and Golden Girls superfan Elle King has recorded a new soulful take on the show’s classic theme song, “Thank You for Being a Friend.”

“Such a big part of my childhood is me watching Golden Girls with my grandmother. And so it’s such an amazing memory for me and I always think of the show so fondly,” said King in an interview. “I love that these women all seem to wake up in the middle of the night and eat cake or pie and none of them ever gain weight. That’s all I aspire to do is, like eat cake with my friends in the middle of the night and chitchat.”

Golden Girls won 11 Emmys during its 7-year run (1985-1992) on NBC. The series starred Bea Arthur, Betty White, Rue McClanahan and Estelle Getty as four friends living under one roof in sunny Florida.
