So You Think You Can Dance

It’s back to basics for So You Think You Can Dance, which was picked up Monday by Fox for a fourteenth season and will air this summer.

After last season featured a version that focused on kids aged 8 – 13, the fourteenth season will return to adult dancers (ages 18-30) who will show their prowess in various dance styles like contemporary, animation, ballroom, hip-hop, braking and more in their quest to win the title of America’s Favorite Dancer. The Top 10 dancers will also pair up with all-star dancers who were previous contestants on the show.

“This season is about giving our loyal fan base what they’ve been asking for,” said executive producer Nigel Lythgoe, who created the show in 2005 with Simon Fuller. “We’ve decided to go back to basics by bringing the best of our past formats together for an exciting new summer featuring accomplished adult competitors partnered with fan-favorite All-Star dancers. And, of course, as in past seasons, there will be new surprises which are sure to wow our viewers.”
