It is official—Elena will be back! The final chapter of The CW drama The Vampire Diaries will feature original star Nina Dobrev reuniting with her TVD co-stars, Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley. Dobrev announced her return via Instagram on Thursday, releasing a pic of her personalized copy of the script, along with the caption “I know it’s Thursday, but this is not a TBT. #BackOnSet #TVDForever.” Dobrev also used to social media site to announce her departure from the romantic supernatural drama in 2015.

This announcement comes as welcome news to fans of the popular series, who mourned when her character was put into a deep sleep at the end of Season 5, and have begged for Elena’s return.

In another bit of foreshadowing, one of the last things Elena said on the series was to Stefan, telling him, “I love you so much. Which is why I can’t wait to find out what new life you’ve chosen for yourself in 60 years or 70 years or whenever I see you again.” Thankfully, we haven’t had to wait 60 years or 70 years to see Elena, Stefan and Damon reunited.

The sixteenth and final episode of the show’s eight-season run will air on March 10 and is titled, “I was Feeling Epic.” After Dobrev’s announcement, we’re feeling pretty epic, too.
